HJT Electrical & Solar became an (OZEV) Office for Zero Emission Vehicles approved installer of chargepoints under the (EVHS) Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme in October 2018 and since then have installed numerous chargers and claimed the installation grant on behalf of many satisfied customers.


Unfortunately the Government funded (EVHS) grants for home chargepoints finished in March 2022.


From 1st April 2026, grants are available for renters, flat owners & households with on-street parking.

You can get either £500 or 75% off the cost to buy and install an EV Charger, whichever amount is lower.


Workplace grants are available for businesses, charities & public sector organisations.

This grant provides up to £500 per socket towards the cost of installing chargepoints at workplaces. You can apply for grants for up to 40 sockets across all your sites.


Landlords grants are available for private landlords, public sector organisations, registered providers of social housing & property management companies working on behalf of a landlord.

Landlords can apply for chargepoint grants of up to £500 per socket, you can apply for grants for up to 200 sockets across all your sites.


Other regulations that apply include the requirement for charge points to be smart – able to be remotely accessed and capable of receiving, interpreting, and reacting to a signal.


Part S of the Building Regulations has been in force since June 2022. It requires EV charging infrastructure to be included in new builds and certain conversions.
